New Delhi: IAS and IPS officers, opposition leaders, former diplomats as well as top associations of journalists have come out in strong support of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, as they were consistently targeted by extreme rights on Saturday’s announcement of ceasefire with Pakistan.
A day after the announcement, Misri-which has been the government’s primary messenger in the entire India-Pakistan tension and operation vermilion-became the goal of online trolls. Unhappy about the ceasefire, which they see as the “cowardice” of the Government of India, they called it “spinless”, a “traitor” and a “national shame”, even viciously attacked their daughter. On Sunday, the Foreign Secretary replaced his ex -account status to preserve the public from public.
The 1989 batch IFS officials have been the face of the Indian side under India-Pakistan tension, which has been running since May 7, when India captured nine terrorist hubs in Pakistan and Kashmir in Pakistan. He was once again at the forefront on Saturday when the Government of India announced the ‘understanding’ of the ceasefire with Pakistan.
Since the trolling continued for hours, soon, a large number of people, including politicians, former diplomats and journalists, came to the rescue of Misri, stating that in Indian democracy, it is a political executive who takes a call.

Our civil servants work under the executive, it should be remembered and should not be convicted for the executive or any political leadership for the decisions that run the country,” posted by Asaduddin Owissi, the president of Almim.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot also posted on social media: “I condemn social media trolling. [the] Family of Foreign Secretary @vikrammisri. This is unacceptable to target our professional diplomats and civil servants – who work dedicated to serve the nation. ,
The IAS (Central) Association wrote: “The IAS Association is standing in solidarity with Mr. Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary, and his family. Improper personal attacks on civil servants performing their duties with integrity are very regrettable. We confirm our commitment to increase the dignity of public service.”

The IPS (Central) Association also posted on the X that it “disorganize the Egyptians and their family disrespectfully condemns”.

Former diplomats like Nirupama Rao and Navdeep Puri also came out in support of the Egyptians.
In addition to the Foreign Secretary, his daughter Didon Emergency, a law graduate, was vialy targeted to “provide legal aid to Rohingya Muslims in India”. A small professional bio of his daughter mentions that he has worked extensively with international human rights organizations, including the United Nations High Commission for refugees in Myanmar, being widely shared on X.
He reads Bio, “Rohingya’s IDP camps to provide legal assistance to Rohingya refugees in Rakhin State and Citway IDP camps”.
Vikram Misri has received the rare glory of serving three Prime Ministers as private secretaries- Ik Gujral, Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi.
Before becoming the Foreign Secretary, he served as one of the country’s Deputy National Security Advisors (2022-2024), and was also India’s ambassador to China (2019-2021), playing an important role in maintaining a channel of communication with the Chinese government through the 2020-2021 Indo-China clashes.
Known as a “China expert” at the beginning of his career, he served at the Pakistan Desk of the Ministry of External Affairs.

Target your daughter
An X user posted an old report written by Misri’s daughter for The Wire in 2016. “Wow bus wow. The user posted.
The 2015 post by Misri with a picture of his wife and daughter, which he posted as part of Modi’s #SelfieWithdonger campaign, came under acute trolling, especially under acute trolling, asking for a “investigation” with the extreme right handle why his daughter Rohingyas want to settle in India.
Misri also came under the attack to repeatedly outlines that the attack in Pahalgam demanded communal tension in India, protesting by several extreme right-wing accounts, accusing the Modi government not to stand for Hindus and “appease” of Muslims.

In a tweet, which received more than 1.7 thousand shares, a user said that “Vikram Misri will have to be made the next Sujata Singh”. Singh, a former foreign secretary, was suddenly removed by the Modi government seven months before the end of his tenure in 2015.
Targets for a big resentment
While the Egyptian frontier has been aimed at social media, a large section of users on social media is generally expressing its deep pain with the government on the ceasefire, which they see as a sign of bending in front of Pakistan.
Users Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is also attacked.
But the barrage of trolling being faced by the Foreign Secretary and Foreign Minister, however, is the only most recent example of the BJP and Modi government, which is facing criticism from extreme right -wing ecosystem on social media.

On X alone, there are dozens of handles that claim loyalty to Hindutva ideology, but the Modi government, BJP and its ideological patron are bitter, unforgivable critics of RSS.
The ceasefire with Pakistan has become the most recent example of the “cowardice” of the Modi government for this section.
An X user, whose bio -bio “Brahmin” and “GC (General Caste) Hindu”, tweeted an animated photo of Modi prepared as a waiter serving US President Donald Trump and Saudi Raja, Salman bin Abdulziz Al Saud.

A WhatsApp survey by RSS-Sambadh magazine Panchjanya revealed that more than 700 people supported the ceasefire, over 4,600 were opposed to it.
The right -wing ecosystem is filled with messages and photographs, showing the struggle in hand shaking hands with the snake.
Many people have also shared screenshots of the party’s X handle, demanding the “DoubleSek” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating on Friday that the Modi government has “no patience for futile peace talks” and said on Saturday that “India confirms its commitment to peace”.
