Every year, around one crore candidates register for the exams conducted by IBPS. Preparing for bank exams is not a week or a month’s work. A few months of dedication, planning and strategic time management are required to crack the exam. Some like to take coaching classes and some prefer to study on their own. Whichever route one chooses, here are some tips and guidelines for candidates to prepare for the exam in the best possible way:

Have a study plan: Study plan is something that should be a part of every candidate’s checklist. For IBPS exams, making a study plan is quite essential as it gives you a clear indication of how much syllabus one has covered. It also highlights the weak areas of the individual. A study plan can also help you reduce stress levels, which are caused by exam pressure.

Focus on Tests and Quizzes: An aspirant should always focus on increasing his/her speed and the only way to do this is by giving regular objective tests and quizzes. A good set of test series/quiz can help the aspirant to increase the speed as it acts as a practice for the exam. Taking tests/quiz can familiarize you with the exam pattern, ultimately saving time on D day.

manage your time: Time management is the most important aspect while preparing and appearing for IBPS exam. While preparing, one must plan the time to be spent on each topic and section. Additionally, more time should be given to the subjects based on what the candidate finds difficult and complicated. While attempting the exam, the time should be divided to solve maximum number of questions for each section.

necessary doubt resolutionDoubt solving is a very important part of IBPS preparation process. Getting the resolution of doubts or queries where a person usually gets stuck in time from an expert/mentor can go a long way in helping the aspirant. It promotes learning which is more result oriented and remembers the topic/concept.

Take time out for revision: Any preparation is incomplete without revision. For quick revision, one can make short notes on important topics while preparing. These notes can come in handy when you want to recap everything that you have read earlier. Simply put, the more you revise, the better prepared you will be to take the exam.
