ICC Awards: India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Renuka Singh won accolades at the ICC Awards 2022 on Wednesday. While Yadav won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award, Singh won the ICC Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year award. Reflecting on their stupendous performance in 2022, the Indian duo shared a special message and thanked them for the honour.
Suryakumar Yadav told his best T20 innings
The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video of Suryakumar Yadav and Renuka Singh sharing the message after winning the award. In one of those videos, Yadav can be seen thanking the international cricket body for the honor and sharing his best innings from 2022.
“Thank you very much for being named the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year. It’s a great feeling and 2022 has been amazing for me from a personal perspective,” Yadav said. Meanwhile, the Indian also opened with his best innings. “I really enjoyed some of the innings I played in that year and if I had to pick one innings that was particularly close to me, it was my first hundred for the country because first hundred is always special and hopefully Many more innings to come.” she added.
Renuka Singh starts her best performance in 2022
Singh, another Indian star who won the ICC Emerging Woman Cricketer of the Year award, also thanked her family and teammates for her success. He also took his memorable performance from 2022 to his name. “I am very happy to have received the ICC Emerging Woman Cricketer of the Year award. The most memorable performance for me was the Commonwealth Games 2022 as I was the highest wicket-taker there. Especially my performance. Playing against Australia in the Games was one of the most memorable performances for me,” she said. To be the best, because playing against him is very special for me.
