“The pitch, which was very dry, did not provide a balance between bat and ball in favor of the spinners right from the start. The fifth ball of the match broke through the surface of the pitch and continued to break the surface occasionally causing little or no seam movement and excessive and uneven bounce throughout the match,” said Chris Broad.

As per the details, if a pitch or outfield is deemed substandard, a number of demerit points will be allotted to that venue.

Also, one demerit point is awarded to venues whose pitches are rated below average by the match referee, while three and five demerit points are awarded to venues whose pitches are marked as poor and unfit respectively. is done. The rolling demerit points will remain active for a period of five years.
