Virat Kohli was undoubtedly the hero of the Indian team but Ravichandran AshwinHis performance in the last two balls under pressure also deserves a lot of praise. Ashwin came to bat when India needed 2 runs in 1 ball. Instead of trying something dramatic, he decided to release the ball bowled by Mohammad Nawaz, helping India score an extra run through wide. In a video shared on BCCI.TV, Ashwin made a cheeky retirement remark, wondering ‘what if he changed the ball to Nawaz’.
The Indo-Pak match was quite an interesting one which saw many twists in the game. India needed 16 runs to win from the last 6 balls, so Pakistan needed a big performance from Mohammad Nawaz. The spinner could have won the match for Pakistan if he had not bowled a no ball.
Despite a no-ball and then a free-hit, Nawaz made a strong comeback by getting out Dinesh Karthik On the last ball of the over. Though he was under pressure on what should have been the final delivery, Ashwin showed his sensibility by leaving the ball wide.
Talking about the incident to BCCI.tv, Ashwin said: “Someone asked me if Nawaz’s ball was bent and hit you on the pads, what would you do? I’ve been through my cricket career. It was an amazing journey (laughs)’.

Ashwin kept his composure on the last ball of the match. He hits the ball over the mid-off fielder as India took a single to successfully complete the run-chase.
