The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) conferred degrees to 461 students of the two-year MBA program at the 58th annual convocation on Saturday.
Tarun Rai, Executive Director (APAC), Wunderman Thompson delivered the keynote address.
“A total of 461 students from the 58th batch of the 2-year flagship MBA program were awarded their degrees, along with 78 students for the 1-year MBAX programme,” IIM-C said in a statement.
The institute awarded 40 students for their Post-Graduate Program for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX VLM) and 10 students for PhD degree.
Recently, the final placement process for the 2-year MBA program for the 58th batch of IIM Calcutta was completed, with a 3 per cent increase in the average annual salary offered to candidates this year, the statement said.
The average salary offered also increased by almost nine per cent to Rs 33.67 lakh as compared to the previous year.
A total of 573 offers were bagged for the entire batch, with the top 25 per cent students receiving an annual compensation of around Rs 50.86 lakh, a five per cent increase over last year.
The average annual compensation for the 2021-23 batch was Rs 35.07 lakh, up from Rs 34.20 lakh last year.
Shrikrishna Kulkarni, Chairman, Board of Governors and Professor Uttam K Sarkar, Director, IIM-C were present on the occasion.
