The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) announced that it has completed its summer internship placement week on October 30 with 100% placements and a ‘record-breaking’ 570 offers for 476 students.
More than 140 firms virtually participated in the placements, including top financial institutions such as Bank of America, Blackstone, Macquarie and top consulting firms such as Accenture Strategy, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co.
“This placement drive was completely virtual and saw the expansion of Hold and Wait (50 additional offers), Dreams (36 additional offers) policies, which enabled all students to place multiple offers and companies to find a better company-student fit ,” the premier IT institute said in a statement.
Among sectors with recruitment trends, the finance sector saw a high number of recruits (121 students), outperforming the counseling sector (120 students) for the top recruiting sector spot. These two sectors accounted for 50% of the total rent.
In addition, sales and marketing and general management with companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC, Mahindra, Mondelez, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Star Disney, Tata Administrative Services accounted for 19% and 13% of the total rentals, respectively. took. Major software services and e-commerce brands account for about 10% of the market share for companies such as Adobe, Amazon, Flipkart, Google and Microsoft. The IIM-C administration further said, “Students continue to show interest in new age startups like Byju’s, Navi Technologies, OLX, Swiggy and Unacademy.”
Placement season concluded with students receiving average and average monthly stipends ₹1.4 lakhs, with the top 25% percentage (in case of the proposed stipend) of students receiving a stipend more than ₹2 lakh per month.
