IIT Delhi organizes Experiential Learning Expo for over 3300 DSEU students

Indian Institute technology (IIT) Delhi has collaborated with Delhi University of Skills and Entrepreneurship (DSEU) to organize an experiential learning expo for over 3300 students of Skill University. It was organized as part of an academic collaboration between the two institutions at IIT Delhi during July this year.

Students from various engineering and non-engineering diploma programs of DSEU participated in the expo. This includes students from Mechanical, Automobile, Computer and Electrical, apart from non-engineering diploma programs like Architecture, etc. as well as degree programs like B.Sc Data Analytics, B.Tech Mechatronics, B.Tech Electronics & Communication, M.Tech Tool Engineering, etc. Visited IIT Delhi from 12 campuses of DSEU and interacted with its faculty and students.

During the three-week academic visits held from 4th to 25th July, the students of DSEU interacted and experienced learning in fitting, machining, sheet metal, welding etc. at the Central Workshop of IIT Delhi. Other components of this collaboration include IC Engine Lab, Electromechanics Lab, Polymer Chemistry Lab, Polymer Processing Lab, Concrete Structure and technology Lab, Data Analytics Lab and Basic Electrical Lab.

“We were divided into groups of four and made to visit mechanical laboratories on a rotational basis. Upon entry, a brief description of the process and basic equipment used in each workshop was given. Later on, we all practiced the mentioned experiments and finally a viva was also taken which helped us to re-understand our learnings of the day,” said Siddhi Jain, a B.Tech Mechanical Engineering student sharing her experience .

“DSEU works with the aim of adding value to students and faculty through experiential learning and intensive practical exercises. This academic collaboration with IIT Delhi is one such initiative. We are excited to hear the experiences of our students and hope that they make the most of such best opportunities”, shared Professor (Dr.) Neharika Vohra, Vice Chancellor, DSEU.

“We are delighted to expand our laboratory and research facilities to enhance the learning experience for DSEU students. Our association with DSEU helps us to increase our influence in the NCR region”, said Professor Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi.

“Our Sustainable Development Goals mention smart resource planning and collaboration between educational institutions. We are excited to take a step forward in this direction and would like to express our gratitude to IIT Delhi for this collaboration”, Prof. Vohra said.
