IIT Delhi ties up with POSOCO to conduct research on India’s power sector

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Has partnered with Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO)-NRLDC to strengthen academic and industry linkages with the goal of promoting research as well as knowledge sharing on issues related to India’s power sector. The Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the organization.

The MoU was signed by NRLDC (POSOCO) chief Rajiv Kumar Porwal and FITT Chief Operating Officer Col Naveen Gopal (Retd) at IIT Delhi campus. The event was attended by professors from IIT Delhi and officials of NRLDC of POSOCO.

Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) is a wholly owned Government of India Enterprise under the Union Ministry of Power. It is responsible for ensuring the integrated operation of the national electricity grid in a safe manner. This includes five Regional Load Despatch Centers (RLDCs) and National Load Despatch Centers (NLDC) under the Electricity Act, 2003.

IIT Delhi had earlier partnered with Delhi Jal Board (DJB). To undertake research and development initiatives on water supply and distribution. This will include research on wastewater transport, treatment, recycling, reuse and disposal. They will jointly develop a smart operation and management framework for DJB’s water and wastewater infrastructure. In addition, education and training modules for in-service officers of DJB will also be developed through collaboration.
