Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) GandhinagarCuriosity Lab and the Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences are hosting an online camp to introduce children, teachers and parents to cognitive science, artificial intelligence and neuroscience.
Aimed at school students from classes 8th to 12th apart from teachers, parents and education scholars, the ‘Camp Cog Science’ sessions will aim to introduce students to the vocational and educational possibilities that exist in the field of cognitive science today.
Camp Cogsy (Cognitive Science) will introduce how researchers study the mind, brain, behavioral and cognitive processes such as attention, perception, learning, and decision-making.

Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary field that sees the intersection of psychology, computer science, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics and anthropology to study the human mind and behavior.

Professor Jason A Manjali, Principal Investigator, Curiosity Lab, IIT Gandhinagar, said, “The objective of the Curiosity Camp is to introduce novel approaches to learning while creating awareness about the multiple career paths supported by institutions like IITs.
Participants can learn about the mysteries of the mind and mind and gain awareness of scientific research and opportunities. The camp also creates an opportunity for school children to interact with the teachers of higher education institutions. Curiosity Lab conducts scientific research to understand how to foster curiosity in students while learning. ‘Curiosity Camp’ is an outreach initiative of Curiosity Labs to foster interest and make learning fun.
Most students are unaware that cognitive science is an interdisciplinary field that studies the mind and brain through the intersection of arts and sciences. The Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences at IIT Gandhinagar also offers academic programs in the same.
