IIT Kanpur’s Artificial Intelligence and Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship (AIIDE)- Center of Excellence (CoE) at Noida has incubated Lucknow-based think tank Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF), tasked with developing first-of-its-kind AI Has been doing. Powered Big Data Search Engine to help with Policing.
The purpose of the search engine is to simplify the investigation and policing process. It will integrate data from all key stakeholders to form a search engine, which will help in predictive policing, crime mapping and analysis.
The discovery will help in crime mapping, crime pattern analysis, behavioral studies, crime prediction, futuristic strategies, synergy of critical data, integrated databases, real time action, darkweb and social media analysis, identification of defaulters and geo-specific intelligence.
“Fraud and crime are one of the main social issues,” Shashank Shekhar, CEO of Future Crime Research Foundation, is developing predictive policing methods using AI, so we can now better understand crime and solve them faster. We are committed to promoting AI startups in UP, I am grateful to the Government of Uttar Pradesh for their support for the AI Center in Noida,” said Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, CEO – IIT Kanpur (First, AIIDE & C3i Hub ) he said.
There is a huge amount of crime data available with the government in the form of case files, FIRs, charge sheets, seizure memos, sentence memos, arrest memos, crime (case/incident) data, criminals data, police stations data. Record room and citizen complaint information, says the institute.
Apart from the data available with central and state agencies, huge data available with banking, BFSI, ISP, telecom, transport and other important bodies goes unused. Internet is the new goldmine of data, darkweb, social media and other open source platforms are full of data resources which is an unexplored sector, it adds.
FCRF is creating a platform where the data of all important organizations and institutions are linked. With the click of a button, they will be able to get complete information which will help in the investigation.
“We will collect all the necessary data from multiple sources and build a platform that can perform data analysis using regression models, data mining, and artificial intelligence, as well as provide insight into crime patterns unique to a given region. Can do.” Shashank Shekhar, Co-Founder, FCRF.
Ankit Saxena, Senior Manager, AIIDE Center of Excellence and First IIT Kanpur, said, “AIIDE Center of Excellence encourages startups from various sectors leveraging AI/ML for policing and crime prevention, healthcare, education, logistics and various others. Will incubate.”
