Sweden-based IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishing retailer, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Susan Pulverer as its first female Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) for its India business.
Pulverer will succeed outgoing IKEA India CEO and CSO Peter Betzel, IKEA said in a statement.
This will be the third stint in India for Pulverer, who joined IKEA in 1997 and has served in various roles within the Ingka Group firm. Prior to his new role as CEO of IKEA India, Pulverer held the position of Group Business Risk and Compliance Manager at Ingka Group.

Pulverer began his IKEA journey as Environment Manager for the IKEA Group and moved to IKEA, a product development company in Sweden, where he held various roles across different business categories.
She then moved to India in 2007 to lead IKEA South Asia’s purchasing event, during which she developed a strong connection and passion for India and its people.
