Believe it or not, it has been observed that whenever someone comes to know about their pregnancy, one of the first thoughts that comes to their mind is what they can and cannot eat during that time. Can It is a very valid idea considering the fact that foods are a great source of stamina and nutrition and one should be extremely cautious about what they are consuming throughout the months.
These are some food and beverages which should definitely be left out of your diet plan-
- caffeine- Well, it should come as no surprise, but caffeine can be extremely harmful to the health of you and your baby. If you crave it, remember that most doctors recommend nothing more than 200 milligrams of caffeine per day. If it is consumed in excess, it can lead to restricted fetal growth and studies show that the baby can have very low birth weight, both of which are dangerous.
- Raw sprouts If you are a salad lover then it is only natural for you to love sprouts as not only are they extremely versatile but they are also filling. But, more often than not, sprouted grains can contain salmonella, a type of bacteria that can induce food poisoning. However, if you take the responsibility of cooking it really well, you can consume very little of it.
- junk food- It’s true and most likely you’ll be craving the world’s weirdest combinations when you’re pregnant and while some people crave tons and tons of junk food, others don’t—and not the best option. Because junk foods are highly processed and often contain chemicals, they can be harmful to the health of your unborn child. Try and stick to the healthy side of life.
- alcohol- It goes without saying that, alcohol is absolutely forbidden during your pregnancy and even after delivery when you are breastfeeding. You should limit your consumption of alcohol from the moment you start trying to conceive and slowly cut it out of your “fun diet”. Alcohol can put your pregnancy at risk and can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
- Raw meat, fish and eggs If not cooked properly, these high-protein ingredients that are otherwise good for health can be dangerous during pregnancy due to their high bacterial content. Once these bacteria start reacting inside your body, your health can be at risk throughout the pregnancy and can put both you and your baby at risk.
Be very careful in choosing what should be included in your diet and what should be left far away.
