Illegal mining scam: Hemant Soren alleges ‘larger conspiracy’ to oust Jharkhand government, warns of more raids on MLAs

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has alleged a larger conspiracy by the BJP to topple his democratically elected government and create instability in the state. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand made these allegations before questioning in the illegal mining case. Soren also warned of more raids by central agencies in the coming days to intimidate his party’s MLAs.

“The allegation doesn’t seem possible at all. I think agencies should come to a concrete conclusion only after detailed investigation. I am a CM, the way summons are being served, it seems that we are going to leave the country. have run away.

“Such actions create uncertainty in the state. This can be called a conspiracy to destabilize the government. Ever since we came to power, our opponents were conspiring to topple the government. This submarine of the conspiracy did not have the strength to get out of the water – efforts are being made to take it out.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand alleged that the conspirators were hell-bent on overthrowing the current government in the state because “they know that we will strengthen the tribals so much that those who come from outside will be thrown out.”

He further asked the people to decide whether the conspirators should rule the state or the tribals as he issued a warning that he would deal with all the conspirators one by one. He was addressing party workers after Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Gandey MLA Jai Prakash Verma joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).

Addressing party workers here in Ranchi, the Chief Minister said that for 20 years the state remained in the hands of people who did not care about the development of the people and lathi-charged those who demanded their rights. “As soon as we took over the reins of the state, we faced challenges like COVID-19 pandemic, drought and others but we faced all the challenges. Our government did the work of giving khatians to 1,932 people and reservation to OBCs in the state. The development of this state can only be done by the one who understands the basic sentiments of the people here.

Soren’s statement came ahead of the Enforcement Directorate’s probe into the illegal mining case. According to sources, the ED has rejected Jharkhand CM Soren’s request to shift the date of questioning to November 16 instead of November 17, which was earlier fixed in the agency’s second summons.

The chief minister was earlier summoned by the central agency on November 3, however, he skipped the summons citing an official engagement, which included attending a tribal festival organized by the Chhattisgarh government.

He then challenged the ED to arrest him instead of sending him summons for questioning. Soren had sought three weeks’ time on the summons issued to him in the matter. Soren was summoned by the ED to probe violation of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and a money laundering probe linked to an illegal mining case in Sahebganj district.
