The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam-Meghalaya from Monday, April 4. The weather agency has also warned that an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is very likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighborhood on April 6.
IMD Rain Prediction
Strong southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal will cause widespread rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during next 5 days. IMD,
Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya will receive heavy rainfall till April 5. A similar weather system will prevail over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till April 4. Meghalaya is also likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on April 3 and 4.
The IMD also said that thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Assam-Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on April 3.
For southern part of India, IMD said widespread rainfall is likely over Kerala-Mahe during next 5 days and light rain over Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 5 days. (April -6) and Telangana (April 6) will also see light rain.
IMD Heatwave Prediction
The Meteorological Department said that on Sunday, heat wave conditions will prevail in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division, Vidarbha and Gujarat.
There will be no significant change in the maximum temperature for the next five days in the rest of the country.
Cyclonic Circulation in Andaman
The IMD said that a cyclonic circulation is very likely to form over South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas on April 6. Strong weather (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas on the same day.
