Before the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra On Wednesday, a six-point ‘Women’s Manifesto’ titled ‘Shakti Vidhan’ was released.
“Women empowerment is possible only when women get equal rights and they get respect. Congress is committed to give equal rights and respect to women power,” said Priyank Gandhi on the occasion.
“We prepared the ‘Women Manifesto’ where we want to say that we really want to empower them. We have to create an environment where the shackles of their opinion can be broken, where they can get full participation in politics and they can be seen in the society. There should be participation so that their exploitation ends.
The Congress has divided the manifesto into six sections: ‘Swabhiman’ (self-respect), ‘Swavalamban’ (self-reliance), ‘Shiksha’ (education), ‘Samman’ (respect), ‘Suraksha’ (protection) and ‘Sehat’. ‘ (Health).

The oldest party has promised that it will allot 40% of the 20 lakh new jobs to women as per the existing provisions of reservation in the state.
Congress also said that women will be given priority in MNREGA work. There will also be 25 percent reservation for women in UP Police.
There will be a government department within the state’s labor ministry to ensure humane working conditions for domestic workers.
In addition, businesses looking to increase their female workforce by 50% will be supported through substantial incentives, including tax exemptions.
Anganwadi workers will get minimum honorarium 10,000 per month. Also, every girl studying in 10+2 will get a smartphone and every girl enrolled in undergraduate programs will be given a scooty.
The state will also start 75 skill schools in the name of women warriors. New health centers will be opened in rural and urban areas.
Women will be able to travel free of cost in government-run buses and will be able to get three gas cylinders free of cost every year.
In offenses like rape, a law will be made to suspend the officer if action is not taken within 10 days of the complaint.
The Congress had earlier said that it would give 40% of tickets to women in the assembly elections to be held early next year.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet said that while this is the first manifesto for women released for next year’s Uttar Pradesh elections, Priyanka Gandhi hopes “this will not be the only manifesto, and there will be pressure on other political parties to seek women’s participation.” Politics seriously”.
In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP had won 312 assembly seats. The party secured 39.67 per cent vote share in the elections to the 403-member assembly. Samajwadi Party (SP) won 47 seats, BSP 19 seats, while Congress could win only seven seats.
