Ind vs WI: West Bengal government allows 75% spectators at Eden Gardens stadium

The West Bengal government has given permission to increase the spectator capacity by up to 75 per cent for the three-match T20I series between India and West Indies at the Eden Gardens Stadium from February 16. As per the latest order from the West Bengal government, “all indoor and outdoor sports activities will be allowed with 75% of the venue’s capacity”.

CAB President Avishek Dalmiya said, “We are grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Chief Secretary and Government of West Bengal for announcing the resumption of sports activities as well as bringing back 75% of the spectators’ capacity to the stadium. ” a statement.

According to the original consistency, West Indies Three ODIs were to be played in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Kolkata and three T20 matches in Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram. But due to rising cases of Kovid-19, BCCI decided to organize white ball series at two venues in Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

The Kieron Pollard-led West Indies will play three ODIs in Ahmedabad from February 6 and then move to Kolkata for the T20 International.
