India on Saturday added 14,313 new Covid-19 cases and 549 deaths in a single day. The country has reported a decline in both cases and deaths compared to Friday’s figures. Yesterday, India had recorded 14,348 cases and 805 Covid-related deaths in 24 hours.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, Kerala had the highest number of deaths (471) in the past, followed by Maharashtra (36), Tamil Nadu (11), West Bengal (8), and Karnataka (7).
Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha have reported three deaths each, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have reported two deaths each. According to the Health Ministry’s data on Saturday, Jharkhand, Manipur and Punjab have reported one death each.

Overall, the death toll in India has risen to 4,57,740 and the number of active people has come down to 1,61,155. A total of 3.36 crore people have so far recovered from coronavirus infection in the country, which comprises 98.19% of the total cases.
