Shreyas Iyer scored three consecutive half-centuries for Team India
Team India completed a 3-0 whitewash in the T20 series against Sri Lanka at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday. India captured the final T20I match by six wickets. For the hosts, Shreyas Iyer starred with an unbeaten 73* as the Men in Blue chased down a target of 146 in 16.5 overs.
Earlier, the Indian bowlers restricted Sri Lanka to a score of 146/5 in 20 overs. for Sri Lanka, Dasun Shanaka Again played a captaincy innings of 74* and took the visitors to a respectable total Dinesh Chandimal Scored 25 runs. Avesh Khan took two wickets, while Mohammad Siraj, Harshal Patel and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.
Chasing a colossal target of 146, India never found itself in trouble. Shreyas chased down the target with 73* off 45 balls – his third consecutive fifty. The hosts dominated and chased down the target with six wickets and 19 balls to spare.
Deciding to bat first, the visitors had the worst start as they lost both their openers in the first two overs of the innings. Siraj sent Danushka Gunathilaka back to the pavilion on the last ball of the first over, while Avesh dismissed Pathum Nisanka in the very next over.

With Sri Lanka in trouble, the hosts set the pace of the innings. In the 9th over, Bishnoi created more trouble for the Lankans by bowling Zenith Lianage. In the 13th over, Patel made the spectators more sad by dismissing Dinesh Chandimal, who was playing dangerously, for 25 runs.
After that setback, captain Dasun Shanaka took matters into his own hands and along with Chamika Karunaratne assured that the Lankans would not lose any more wickets and took the team’s score to 146/5.
