New Delhi: Indian and Chinese troops had a brief face-off near Yangtse in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector last week and it was resolved as per established protocol after talks between local commanders of both sides, people familiar with the development said. said on Friday.

Regarding the fresh face-off, people said that both the sides carry out patrol activities as per their perception and whenever soldiers come face to face, the situation is managed as per established protocol.

“The India-China border is not formally demarcated and, therefore, there is a difference in perception of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between countries,” the person said.
The people said that by following the existing agreements and protocols between the two countries, it is possible to maintain peace and tranquility in areas of differing perceptions.
The incident took place amidst a 17-month-long standoff between Indian and Chinese armies in several areas along the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
