Today, digital transactions have changed the way India exchanges money. You will get Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ID at every corner of the country. So much so that you will get the facility of digital payment at India’s last tea shop. Yes that is correct! Industrialist Anand Mahindra recently took to Instagram to applaud a post of a tea shop in Uttarakhand’s Mana village – the last Indian village – to have a UPI or code for payment. This tea shop is said to be the last tea shop of the country and accordingly it is named – India’s Last Tea Shop.
“As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. It captures the breathtaking scope and scale of India’s digital payments ecosystem. Jai Ho!” wrote Anand Mahindra re-sharing a post originally posted by @arulmozhi2_O. The tweet read, “Last village in Uttarakhand at 10,500 feet altitude. Looks like there is UPI too… #Digital_Bharat.” to keep track:

The tweet grabbed everyone’s attention within no time and people started reacting to it with comments and emoticons. “Technology is reaching the last mile. Amazing #UPI,” read one comment. Another comment said, “It is a huge success for Digital India and appreciates reaching out to every citizen.” A third person wrote, “It’s a revolution. Completely changed the way we spend.”
For those unaware, Mana is said to be the last Indian settlement on the banks of the Alaknanda River. It is about 50 km from the India-China border. The hamlet, especially the tea stall, is a popular tourist destination, where people come to experience India’s last sip of tea at its stalls.
