India’s longest range EV! Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ launched at Rs 2.45 crore – Times of India

Mercedes-Benz today launched the top-end all-electric luxury electric saloon, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ at a price of Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom). The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ will be available as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) with 2 years/ 30,000 km service warranty and 10 years/2,50,000 km battery warranty.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the longest range EV in India, with a claimed range of 529 – 586 km as per the WLTP cycle. The brand new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is offering a service package (compact package) at Rs 1,15,000 and an advance assurance package at Rs 2,50,000.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the locally assembled EQS 580 will be launched in India next month.
2022 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ Exterior
The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ sports a sleek coupe silhouette complemented by a blacked-out paint job. It will feature all-LED lighting with a DRL that extends from one end to the other. Being an EV, the EQS will sport a unique design for the grille area with a large Mercedes-Benz logo and chrome insert at the centre. At the rear, the AMG EQS will again feature lighting elements extending from one end to the other. The rear brake light will also form a curved 3D helix. The all-electric saloon sits on 21-inch AMG aero-designed light-alloy wheels.

The 2022 EQS will also be the first Mercedes-Benz car in India to debut a 56-inch MBUX hyperscreen that merges three separate OLED displays into a curved piece of Gorilla Glass and looks like it’s floating on the dashboard. It is powered by 8 CPU cores and has 24GB of RAM. It also gets haptic feedback with the help of twelve actuators hidden under the touchscreen. The three displays integrated into the HyperScreen measure 12.3-inches, 17.7-inches, and 12.3-inches, respectively.
2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ Powertrain
Based on a performance-oriented drive concept, the 2022 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ will feature a 108 kWh battery pack that powers a dual electric motor setup that produces a maximum power of 761 hp and 1020 hp in race start mode with boost function. Gives an output of nm. peak torque. The all-electric luxury saloon can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds with a 75% charged battery and achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. It is available with AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system.
The electric sedan is available with four AMG Dynamics Select driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ has 200 kW DC fast charging capability. The fast DC charger can charge the car from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. The car gets paddle shifters to adjust the level of recovery for efficient energy recovery.

Despite not having any direct rivals in the Indian market yet, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG luxury electric sedan is likely to face competition from the Porsche Taycan as well as the Audi e-tron GT considering the price point.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the first of three new luxury electric cars to debut in the Indian market in 2022.
