India’s Lakshya Sen defeated Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong 19-21, 21-8, 21-17 in the second round of the Indonesia Masters 2023 badminton tournament on Thursday.
Former world number one Saina Nehwal will take on eighth seed Han Yu of China.
In the previous round, Lakshya defeated Japanese shuttler Kodai Naroka by 21-12, 21-11 scoreline in his men’s singles round of 32 match, while Saina defeated Chinese Taipei’s Pai Yu Po 21-15, 17-21, 21- 15 beat.
On Wednesday, HS Prannoy faltered in the first round and suffered a second successive round exit, losing 19-21 10-21 to Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama. He reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia Super 1000, but was knocked out in the first round. India Opened last week.

The mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto too could not cross the initial hurdle, going down 16-21 15-21 to third seeds Thom Giquel and Delphine Delrue of France.
Rohan Kapoor and N Sikki Reddy also lost 21-12 21-23 16-21 to Indonesia’s Zafar Hidayatullah and Asiya Salsabila Putri Pranatha.
