The shooting of this film starring Indrans in the lead has started recently.
The story of the film is about a village which dries up in the month of April.
Kundal Puranam directed by Santhosh Puthukkunnu is all set to hit the big screens on 18th June this year. Starring Indrans in the lead role, the film’s shooting recently began in Kasaragod, Kerala. The film revolves around the story of a village which goes dry in the month of April and several families depend on a perennial spring well for their livelihood. Kundala Puranam also stars Ramya Suresh, Unniraja and Babu Annur in pivotal roles.
With cinematography by Sharan Sasidharan, the film’s music is composed by Blason Thomas. Produced by TV Anil under the banner of Menokhils Films, the film is written by Sudesh Kumar.
Recently, a puja ceremony was held at the Nileswaram temple to mark the Muhurta shot of the film. Its shooting started from 10 April. The film will be shot at various locations including Cheyoth, Narimalam, Kinnur, Nileshwaram, Vajuthreddy and Kanhagad.
Kundal Puranam marks the second directorial debut of Santhosh Puthukkunnu. Santosh is best known for directing the award-winning film Mopla, starring Santosh Keezhattur.
Indrans is known for films including Apothecary, Malik, #Home, and Alorukkam. He has also acted in films such as Kaipola, Higuita, Vamanan, Luis, Padavettu, Eesho, Palthu Janavar and others. Now, he is gearing up for his upcoming movies like Pendulum, Queen, Nancy Queen, Made in Caravan, Centimeters and Within Seconds.
Indrans has worked in about 500 films so far. He is known for his comedy and typical accent, which wins the hearts of the audience. He has been awarded with awards like Singapore South Asian International Film Best Actor Award for Veilmarangal, Shanghai International Film Festival Award for Best Film and Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor 2014.
Santhosh Puthukunn’s feature directorial debut was Mopla. Some of his other notable films are Kundal Puranam and Nilavariyathe.
