Participating in the debate on the confidence motion moved by the new ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government, Yadav alleged that the BJP has tried to “broke up” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party to “erode the socialist ideology”.
Yadav said, “My father Lalu Prasad, mother Rabri Devi, my sisters and I are all paying the price for our commitment to socialism. The chief minister and I share the same ideology. You (BJP) cannot reap what we socialists did. sown.”
The RJD’s successor also expressed dismay at a section of the media, saying that one of the malls being raided by the CBI in Gurugram belonged to him.
“These media outlets should do some research. It belongs to someone based in Haryana, and it was inaugurated by a BJP MP,” Yadav said.
“People sitting in Delhi don’t understand the spirit of Bihar. Intimidation doesn’t work here. Sending three ‘jamai’ is not going to scare us. BJP is looking like a procession without a groom,” the youth leader said. Now a frank take on the saffron party’s inability to decide who will be the leader of the opposition.
Yadav also said that Nitish Kumar has taken a “courageous decision” and it has brought “a new ray of hope” for the people of the country.
He said that BJP leaders should also remember that the Chief Minister was called Samajwadi by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“You all are afraid to face the 2024 elections because a united opposition in Bihar will defeat the BJP. That’s why all three ‘jamais’ are being sent,” he said.
BJP leaders protested against the repeated use of the word “Jamai”.
He was told by Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari that he would look into the rule book and if the word was unparliamentary, it would be removed.
