Inside Kiara Advani’s Kerala-Style Diwali Lunch

The festival of lights – Diwali – is knocking at our door and it is time to celebrate the occasion with your loved ones. While we are all busy cleaning and decorating our homes to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and finally, some are looking forward to something mouth-watering, celebrities are no different. And, the latest one to mark the festivities, being a foodie, is none other than Kiara Advani. The actress ate a finger-licking “Diwali Lunch”, which featured vibrant Kerala cuisine. He shared a picture of his traditional meal served on a banana leaf. On his plate, we could see several dishes, which included bowls of curry, sambar, rasam and avial. Along with rice, a variety of pachadi (chutneys) including curry, gunpowder, thoran and beetroot are prepared. Kiara also had a deep-fried dish that resembled pakodas, and some pickles to enhance the experience. Don’t forget the papadums for a crunchy twist and banana chips served on the side. We can even see buttermilk in a glass. for dessert? It’s Payasam. “Diwali lunch,” said Kiara. The actress tagged Sanya Lakhani and wrote, “You,” adding a star emoji.

Now, this South Indian dish is special and becomes a comfort food when combined with rice. It is like sambar, just thinner in consistency. Simple toor dal made with lots of chillies and tomatoes. You can either eat it with rice or relish it as a soup.

4. Beetroot Pachadi

Another name for chutney is pachadi. This super tempting beet preparation can jazz up your meal in no time. Also, if you don’t like beetroot in salad form, try cooking it to make it interesting.

5. Moong Dal Payasam

Now, let us end the list with a sweet treat. Payasam is usually a sweet pudding that has lovely flavors of coconut milk, cardamom and cinnamon. For this recipe, you need to use moong dal along with other quintessential ingredients.
