Instagram has a new chronological mode. here’s what you need to know

Instagram announced on Wednesday that it is bringing back the chronological feed. according to this ledge, instagram announced that it is adding two new modes that change the way the main feed works, bringing back the much-anticipated reverse-chronological view. The company calls the two new modes “Following” and “Favoring,” and says they’re designed to “give you more options and control over what you see” when using the app (i.e., giving you suggestions for what you see). lets escape things like post and algorithm App sorting by who and what you like).

According to GSM Arena, you can add up to 50 accounts as your favourites, and you’ll only see their posts when selecting this feed – also sorted chronologically.

Additionally, post from Accounts Your favorites will appear higher in the Home feed. You can make changes to the Favorites list at any time, as people are not notified when you add or remove them.

However, none of these new feeds can be set as the default, at least for now. So every time you visit Instagram, you’ll still see the default algorithm-based feed, and you’ll have to manually select it if you want the following or favorite feeds.

These mods have been working for some time, according to ledge Adam Mosseri talked about it a few times last year, and some users have tested it. Instagram even teased that he was coming to Twitter yesterday. Now, though, it should finally be on its way to everyone. To go to one of the alternate feeds, when you’re in the Home tab, tap the Instagram logo in the top left corner and enjoy the chronological fun.
