The nine-year-old internet dispute between the two major social media platforms has now come to an end. From now on, when netizens share the Instagram link on Twitter, you will be able to see a preview of the link which only includes an image instead of the URL text.
According to The Verge, the feature was rolled out on Android, iOS and the web on Wednesday. Both Instagram and Twitter are promoting this change.
According to reports, Instagram had discontinued the ability to see previews of posts on Twitter after it was acquired by Meta (formerly Facebook) in 2012.
Instagram founder and former CEO Kevin Systrom said the decision was his and not Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s.
The report further states that it was not only Instagram that made changes limiting the integration of Instagram and Twitter; A few months after the acquisition was announced, Twitter removed a feature that lets users on Twitter find people they follow on Instagram.
