According to the Commissioner of Police, the arrested miscreants have been identified as Abu Haider of Hussainabad, Thakurganj (Lucknow, UP), Imran Ali Baig of Ajmer (Rajasthan), Mehdi Hasan of Hardoi (UP), Ghulam Zakir of Thane.Maharashtra), Sayyid Abu Tharab of Chittoor (Andra Pradesh) and Mohammad Qasim of Sehore (MP). Police also recovered Rs. 7.25 lakh of the amount looted from them, one SUV and two motorcycles.
He said that a team of police is being sent to Bhopal to document the gang and collect crime statistics. Describing the modus operandi of the gang, the CP said that the members of this gang used to masquerade as policemen to mislead the people targeted for robbery.
The network of this gang is also spread in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and North East. The gang avoids staying at any place for a long time and after committing the robbery takes four wheelers to leave the city.
