IPL Auction 2022 Highlights: Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history after he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore. Other uncapped players Shah Rukh Khan, Rahul Teotia, Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma and Devald Brevis also made decent earnings. Capped all-rounders Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, fast bowlers Lockie Ferguson and Pramukh Krishna received hefty bucks on the first day of the IPL 2022 auction. However, Ishaan Kishan remained the most expensive buy ever after Mumbai Indians picked him up for Rs 15.25 crore. Chahar went to CSK for Rs 14 crore, while Ferguson and Krishna were bought by Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals for Rs 10 crore each, respectively.
Sunrisers Hyderabad surprised everyone by taking Nicholas Pooran for Rs 10.75 crore. Kunal Pandya and Mitchell Marsh were the other big picks once the IPL 2022 auctions resume. The event was called off after auctioneer Hugh Adams fell midway. From there the program was conducted by Charu Sharma. Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was bought by RCB for Rs 10.75 crore. Earlier, Harshal Patel was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the same amount when Rajasthan Royals defeated Shimron Hetmyer and Devdutt Padikkal to open the second round.
Shreyas Iyer was sold by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 12.25 crore, Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada went to Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore and Rs 9.25 crore respectively.
