Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff will represent Mumbai Indians (MI) in the upcoming season Indian Premier League (IPL) after being traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

“Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff has been bought from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL season 2023. He was bought by RCB at his base price of Rs 75 lakh in the 2022 IPL auction,” read a statement from the league. ”

Behrendorff has previously represented Chennai Super Kings in 2021, Mumbai Indians in 2018 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022.

The left-arm pacer has played nine T20Is, taking seven wickets with a best bowling performance of 4/21.

In the 2023 edition of IPL, he will represent Mumbai Indians – his franchise from 2018 when he played five matches and took as many wickets.

In the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League, RCB finished fourth in the points table with 16 points and eight wins from 14 matches. They qualified for the playoffs but lost to Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, finished at the bottom of the table with just four wins and eight points from 14 matches.
