With the target of their maiden IPL title, Punjab Kings are gearing up for the upcoming season. With a new captain in Shikhar Dhawan, the unit will look to start afresh and hope to do better this year. On Saturday, Dhawan shared some pictures from Punjab’s practice session on his Facebook account. The left-handed batsman can be seen playing intra-squad practice matches. In another picture, the entire team can be seen praying together. The team’s spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi can also be seen in one of the pictures.

Dhawan, who was appointed as the captain of PBKS last year, said that a player can be dropped at any time in franchise cricket and even he is not afraid of losing the role in future.

“Jobs come and go, no worries. We have to come empty handed, we have to go empty handed. All this has to remain here. he has no fear, (We come into the world empty handed and leave empty handed. It all remains here). I am not afraid of losing my job. (Just because) I’m the captain, I don’t want to put this burden on myself saying ‘well, I’ve got to do it this way or that way’.
