IRCTC will start ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ through a special tourist train today, June 21. Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the entire duration of 17 nights and 18 days will take pilgrims to holy places associated with the life of Lord Rama. Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative of the Central Government to promote domestic tourism.
IRCTC Chief Regional Manager Ajit Kumar Sinha said, “This will be the first time that the train will travel from India to Nepal and will connect two religious cities of Ayodhya and Janakpur.”
The train, starting from Safdarjung Railway Station, covers a distance of approximately 8,000 km between India and Nepal on the Shri Ramayana Yatra circuit, covering major places including Ayodhya, Janakpur (Nepal), Sitamarhi, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot. Will do Nashik, Hampi, Rameswaram, Kanchipuram and Bhadrachalam (also known as Ayodhya of South India).

The boarding points include Delhi Safdarjung, Tundla, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Kanpur, Lucknow and de-boarding points include Veerangana Laxmibai, Agra, Mathura, Delhi Safdarjung.
Cost of the entire trip:
According to IRCTC, the travel cost will be 71,820 for single occupancy. For double and triple occupancy, the ticket price is 62,370. For children with beds between the ages of 5-11, the ticket price is 56,700.
