Industries Minister P Rajeev on Saturday announced that Ernakulam has become the first district in Kerala to complete 100 per cent COVID vaccination of its target population with the first dose.
Addressing the audience at a program to honor hospital officials and health workers in the district, Rajiv said, “Today is a very proud occasion. A vast district like Ernakulam has completed 100 percent first dose vaccination in Kerala. Now I I am announcing it. Formally.”
Sharing the state government’s target of completing 100 per cent administration of the second dose of vaccine within the next three months, the minister said, “The second dose will be completed within three months. Now the second dose is almost 50 percent complete.” Is.”
“The district administration and health system has done a commendable job. The health system in the state got ready to deal with COVID very quickly. The district has set an example for India. We tried all possibilities. We have developed a technical system. Used. Perform well. Coordination between government and private agencies was well established. As part of that, we have been able to control COVID and its mortality rate in the district. Since the second wave of COVID No one in the district has been deprived of oxygen,” he said, lauding the efforts of the health workers and their vital role in the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In Kerala, the health sector has created the highest number of positions for jobs. In India, perhaps in the world itself, Kerala is the best in terms of controlling mortality. It must be said that the government’s strategy for COVID control has been successful,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kerala on Saturday reported 13,217 new COVID-19 cases, 14,437 recoveries and 121 deaths in the last 24 hours. There are 1,41,155 active cases in the state. The death toll stands at 25,303. In the last 24 hours, 96,835 samples were tested to detect the presence of the virus.
