A developer survey conducted by StackOverflow also revealed that Rust is a very popular language among developers.
What makes Rust the highest paid programming language
According to Mike Lucides, author of the O’Reilly study, Python programmers are in huge demand because there is a huge supply. He told The Next Web, “Python is providing programmers with thousands of boot camps; It has become the standard language for introductory CS in college; It is one of two languages commonly used for data analysis in science. The demand is low for Rust & Go, but the supply is very low.”
Looking at salaries by programming language, the study showed that professionals using Rust have the highest average salaries (over $180,000), followed by Go ($179,000), and Scala ($178,000). Python is very popular and professionals using the language earn an average salary of around $150,000.
Reportedly, Rust has no runtime or garbage collector and is very fast. It can be easily integrated with other languages and has the ability to eliminate many classes of bugs at compile-time.
Some of the jobs for which Rust programmers are highly paid are software engineers, backend engineers, blockchain engineers, and more. The report cites the average salary of these jobs in the UK. For example, in the UK a software engineer can withdraw around £44,000 while a blockchain engineer can get anywhere close to £55,000.
