It rains in many circles in North Andhra, Rayalaseema

Pre-monsoon activity over Andhra Pradesh on Thursday resulted in moderate to heavy rainfall in many areas of North Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.

According to real-time data from the AP Planning Development Society, Kuppam in Chittoor district received a total of 63 mm of rain till 8 pm on Thursday.

Ananthagiri mandal in Alluri Sitarama Raju district received 54.5 mm of rain. It was followed by Markapuram (47 mm), Prakasam, Adathigala (46.75 mm) by Alluri Seetharama Raju and Prakasam’s Triuppanthakam (46.25 mm).

Other mandals in ASR, Prakasam, Chittoor, Parvathipuram Manyam, Annamayya and Vizianagaram received more than 30 mm of rain. Moderate rainfall was observed over the mandals of Nandyal, Palnadu, Eluru, Srikakulam and other districts.

As per the India Meteorological Department estimate for Andhra Pradesh, a cyclonic circulation extending from Bangladesh and neighborhood up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh extends up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.
