Jack Whitehall on Working on Disney’s Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson

What is such an adventure movie without fun? Disney’s Jungle Cruise has been globally acclaimed as a visual marvel and Indian fan of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and multi-faceted Emily Blunt can finally see the adventure fantasy film on the big screen. What makes the film all the more engaging are the various characters who have made the film a fun-rolling ride that will be remembered. British actor, comedian, writer and presenter Jack Whitehall plays McGregor Houghton, the younger brother of Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt), who joins the researcher and captain on his mysterious expedition to the Amazon Forest.

Speaking of playing the role so closely with actress Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall quipped, “We have the wonderful Emily Blunt playing McGregor’s sister, which is amazing. She’s an actress I’ve admired in many of her performances.” I am very much admired. I think he is very talented and talented. What’s strange is that our backstory is basically the same. We’re from exactly the same part of London, and our schools were next to each other We went to the same sports club. Our mothers have met each other, so we feel so right to play siblings. Hopefully, we can transfer that connection to the screen.”

He further talks about The Rock himself, “Dwayne Johnson is an absolute hero. He is such a professional. He is very generous as an artist. He has that star quality. When you see him in a scene, he just has that X-factor that people talk about, and the moment he walks into a room or on a set, you know he’s there. He has this amazing, kind of gravity, but then he’s also really funny. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, and he’s just a great guy to work with. I’m really spoiled with both of them. It is very exciting to work with both of them.”

Whitehall seamlessly plays the dapper McGregor who loves to enjoy the finer things in life. It’s all about stylish fashion, fine dining, and the elegant living—even in the middle of a rainforest. So, it will be quite interesting to see how it turns out for him!

Directed by Jaime Collette-Serra, Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez and Jack Whitehall, alongside Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti. The Disney Studios film is set to release in Indian cinemas on September 24, 2021 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
