YouTuber turned professional boxer, Jake Paul, continued his unbeaten run by defeating MMA veteran Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva on Saturday night. The pay-per-view clash was the highlight of the US’s Desert Diamond’s Showtime PPV.
Jake Paul and Anderson Silva were described as “bringing fire” in a tweet from Showtime Boxing, who also shared a 42-second clip from the fight on their Twitter account. The video has been viewed more than 2 lakh times and has also received a lot of reactions from users.

The 25-year-old social media influencer ensured that his youth built on the experience of 47-year-old Silva to win his sixth professional fight, which was perhaps also the most important of his career.
As anticipated, the match sparked a flurry of reactions on social media. However, most of the users started discussing the age difference between the two fighters immediately after it was finished. Due to the apparent 22-year age difference between the two fighters, many found the match to be unfair.
One user commented, “Jake almost lost by unanimous decision to a 50 year old retired MMA fighter, and you’re claiming that Jake is the best of our time or the Goat… you can’t all be free.”

Another user wrote, “If someone 27 year old fights 47 year old man I would say it was not a fair fight.”

Paul won a unanimous decision by dismissing Silva and coming back for a knockdown in the final round. He defeated Anderson twice, 77–74 and 78–73 to win the game.
Paul attacked in Round 1 while Silva opened the defense. Despite his relatively old age, Silva threw several effective punches in practically every round. Silva started showing signs of aging and exhaustion by Round 7. Then, as he tried to scare Paul, a strong right hand struck him, knocking him to the ground.
