Jalandhar (Punjab). [India]Jan 15 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday paid his last respects to party MP from Jalandhar, Santokh Singh Choudhary, who passed away during ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ on Saturday.
Chowdhary (77) died in Ludhiana while walking with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during the Punjab leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Saturday amid cold wave in north India. Chowdhary suffered a heart attack and fell unconscious. The visit was adjourned for the day.
Chowdhary was taken to a hospital in Phagwara, where he was declared brought dead.
Following the sudden demise of the party MP, the Congress suspended the ongoing padayatra and canceled Rahul Gandhi’s press conference in Jalandhar on Sunday.
