NASA today launched the James Webb Space Telescope, the world’s largest and most powerful space telescope. The telescope was launched from French Guiana on the northeast coast of South America. It will take a month for the James Webb Space Telescope to reach its destination which is 1 million miles (1.6 million kilometers) away. James Webb is named after a NASA administrator during the 1960s.
