The JD(U) national president, however, advised his predecessor, the RCP, to “apply yourself anywhere in your heart, mind and soul, without making rhetoric against Nitish Kumar”.
“Nitish Kumar is the owner (swami) of JD(U). People like RCP or me get elected as national president because of his blessings. But we must remember that we are just caretakers,” Lalan said.
RCP Singh quit the JD(U) on Saturday, hours after reports emerged that the party sought an explanation from him on allegations of corruption leveled by some unidentified workers.
Lalan, who is a Lok Sabha member, also said that he was not aware of the agenda of the meeting of party MPs called by the chief minister in the evening, adding, “I am coming here directly from the airport. ”
He, however, insisted that the party’s ties with the BJP were not under strain and cited the JD(U)’s support for NDA candidates in the recent elections for President and Vice President as evidence.
