Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has issued a notice announcing the cancellation of Mathematics and Biology examination for class XI. The decision came after several reports of paper leaks surfaced online on Monday. Taking immediate action, JAC issued notice on Tuesday. As per the announcement, the canceled exam will be held in June along with the Term II exams. Notably, the pattern of the test paper will remain the same.
“As soon as the information about the paper leak reached us through the media, we canceled the exam. The canceled paper will be re-examined with Term II,” JAC secretary Maheep Singh told Times of India. He further assured that investigation has been started in the matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Reportedly, the students have welcomed the JAC’s decision to cancel the exam, as they believe that everyone should get a chance for proper marking. However, some of them are under a bit more stress as the canceled paper will be held along with the Term II exam, making it quite hectic for them.
The JAC paper leak comes a few days after the BPSC Prelims paper leak case. The preliminary exam for the state civil services exam was conducted on Sunday, May 8 and was also canceled the same day after the question paper was leaked. More than 6 lakh candidates had enrolled for the BPSC exam conducted to recruit 802 posts in the civil services of Bihar. This exam was earlier postponed twice due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
