Delhi Police’s chargesheet in Rohini courtroom shootout, in which gangster Jitendra gogi It is said that the planning of this audacious crime had begun two months ago – that too from inside the capital’s Mandoli prison. The chargesheet states that jailed gangster Sunil Balyan alias Tillu is the main conspirator.
On September 24, Gogi was shot dead by two assailants of the Tillu gang while he was being produced in a Rohini court for trial. Delhi Police killed two attackers Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga and Rahul. Police said the two were sent to Haiderpur for “training” a month before the incident.
A team of Crime Branch had filed a chargesheet in the Rohini court last week, in which seven people, including the two deceased assailants, were made accused. One of the seven accused, Umang Yadav, who was arrested along with his cousin Vinay two days after the incident, allegedly helped Tillu and the attackers.
In his disclosure statement, he revealed that he has known Tillu for a few months and about two months back, Tillu requested his help in killing Gogi. “Tillu used to call him (Yadav) through video call…he hatched a conspiracy to kill Jitendra alias Gogi when he was produced before the court on 24.09.2021,” the chargesheet said.
Tillu allegedly sent Jagdeep and Rahul to Yadav’s house to execute the plan. Jagdeep stayed at Yadav’s house on August 23, while Rahul had reached two days before the incident.
Plans made after the second wave Tillu reportedly planned to eliminate Gogi at the Rohini court as he felt that the courts would be “less crowded” after the second Covid wave.
The chargesheet states that he implicated jailed gangsters Naveen Dabas and Ashish Kumar to help them inside the jail and used apps like Signal and WhatsApp to communicate with other associates.
Yadav is a student of law and knows about the working of courts. He is asked to arrange for the coats to be worn by the advocates and to “brief” the two attackers.
In his statement to the police, Tillu said that he had sent Yadav and Jagdeep to the Panipat court on September 13 and 7 to conduct ‘reiki’ and check the police system. This was done because Gogi was produced there in a murder case.

Yadav and his cousin Vinay took a vehicle to a mall in Rohini, where Rahul and Jagdeep “changed their clothes to dress like lawyers”. They then went to the Rohini court where Tillu’s aide had sent another shooter. However, the men refused to accept her because she was “not dressed properly”.
The chargesheet states that Tillu was calling the men for updates.
According to Tillu, he got information about Gogi’s death at around 1.30 pm. “He was overjoyed by the news. However, as soon as he learned from the TV in his cell that both the attackers had been killed, he became deeply saddened…,” reads the document.
Police said the accused were “panicked” after the incident and tried to hide or destroy evidence. Tillu gave his mobile phone and internet dongle to Kumar, another prisoner, and asked him to destroy the equipment.
Police said Yadav meanwhile hid footage from CCTV cameras installed in his house inside a “chimney” in the kitchen.
