Ranchi, Sep 7 (IANS)| The Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday passed a supplementary budget of Rs 4,684.93 crore for the financial year 2021-22 amid a walkout by the main opposition BJP. The budget included an allocation of Rs 1,786 crore for electricity and Rs 279 crore for the health department. During the discussion on the supplementary budget presented by Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, BJP MLAs created a ruckus and raised slogans against the government. Congress members and BJP MLAs engaged in a verbal spat on the Treasury bench after Ranchi MLA CP Singh made some remarks on state health minister and Congress leader Banna Gupta. On Singh’s remarks, Congress MLAs entered the well and created a ruckus.
Singh withdrew his remarks and the speaker deleted it. However, BJP MLAs boycotted the proceedings of the House. Later, a supplementary budget of Rs 4,684.93 crore was passed by the assembly and Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto adjourned the house till 11 am on Wednesday.
