Hollywood actor Johnny Depp to return to directing after 25 years Modigliani, a biopic on Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani. He will also co-produce the film with Barry Navidi and Al Pacino.
The biopic film is based on a play by Dennis McIntyre and adapted for the screen by Jerzy and Mary Kromowski. According to time limitThe story chronicles the life of the titular painter and sculptor during a turbulent and eventful 48 hours in Paris in 1916.
Details about the cast of the film are unknown. It is also unclear whether Depp will also star in the film. Production of the film is targeted to begin in 2023.
Depp last directed the 1997 film Tees Maar Khan, in which he starred alongside Maron Brando. He will next appear as King Louis XV in French director Mavens Jean Du Barry, The historical romance marks Depp’s first film in three years.
Depp was recently in the news for winning a lengthy, tumultuous defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
