Johnson: UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to visit India on April 21-22 to review India-UK Roadmap 2030 – Times of India

London: India and Britain on Saturday announced a two-day visit together by Prime Minister Boris johnson For India from 21st April, saying PM Narendra Modi and Johnson will review the implementation of the India-UK Roadmap 2030 and “set out our vision for further deepening cooperation across the full spectrum of the bilateral relationship”.
This will be Johnson’s first visit to India since becoming prime minister and follows Britain’s announcement of a post-Brexit Indo-Pacific foreign and defense policy tilt, with India being identified as a priority relationship for the UK.

The visit follows Russia’s decision to ban Johnson and several of his ministers from the country on Saturday.
Apart from Ukraine, talks are also expected to focus on bilateral trade, with the two leaders looking for ways to further intensify talks for a free trade agreement. India and Britain recently concluded the second round of talks for the proposed agreement.
“PM Johnson will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan and will hold bilateral consultations with the PM on April 22. India and the UK enjoy a long and historic relationship, which was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the India-UK Virtual Summit in 2021,” the government statement said.
The British Prime Minister will visit Ahmedabad for the first time on 21 April.
