Khalin Joshi’s final round of three-under 67 was good enough for him to take on leader M. Dharma overnight and emerged victorious in the ₹40 lakh Jaipur Open golf tournament organized by Rajasthan Tourism here on Friday.
Joshi (61, 66, 64, 67), who made a dramatic three-putt from four feet on the last hole to end the tournament with a bogey, won by a shot at 22-under 258.
The fifth trophy of Khalin’s career ended a three-year title drought.
Joshi, 29, who hails from Karnataka, overcame his runner-up’s disappointment in Delhi last week and took a winning check of Rs 6,46,600 to move from fifth to third place in the PGTI Order of Merit. .
He made six birdies and three bogeys on the last day.
Dharma (62, 62, 62, 65, 70), the overnight leader by two shots, slipped to second place with an even 70. He ended the week with a 21-under 259 total.
Kolkata’s Sunit Chaurasia (64) and Chandigarh’s Harendra Gupta (65) finished third at 20-under 260. Chaurasia’s round had seven birdies and one bogey, while Gupta had one eagle, four birdies and one bogey.
Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Singh Sandhu produced the best round of the tournament, 10-under 60, but finished seventh at 18-under 262. Yuvraj dunked an eagle from five feet on the 18th and also made nine birdies and a bogey during his round.
Olympian Udayan Mane (64) was ninth at 17-under 263.
