Ranchi: Jharkhand State Students Union (JSSU) members welcomed on Tuesday Jharkhand Public Service Commission(JPSC) has decided to postpone the Combined Civil Services Main Examination to be held from January 28.
JPSC informed the Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday during the hearing of a letter patent appeal that it is ready to reconsider the claims of the appellants and verify the preliminary merit list.
The JSSU, which had staged a sit-in for nearly 50 days at Morhabadi ground demanding cancellation of preliminary results and conducting fresh examinations, gathered at a place near Morhabadi to celebrate the announcement.
JSSU President Devendra Nath mahto He said that the revised results are not a solution to the issues raised by him. He alleged that there were violations of rules, corruption and irregularities during the exercise.
He claimed that students with serial roll numbers have passed out from one centre. He said that there was also talk of paper leak before the exam.
Mahto said, “The examination should be held only after the reservation policy is clearly defined. Reserved category students securing more than the general category must qualify in the general category.
