“Mental health issues are now a part of everyone’s life; So what does it mean to accept it and move on, instead of thinking, ‘Is there something wrong with me and how can I get rid of it?'” says Sahiba Singh, founder of Flux, a community art space in Bengaluru Is.

Sahiba, one who thought and conceptualized juicy In three months, says it’s a dance theater piece where movement and storytelling come together with live music.

sahiba says juicy Can help people understand the mental health and illnesses in their lives. “The idea behind juicy To bring awareness and normalize mental health from a place of lightness and humour. It’s not just about acceptance; We have to accept this and then integrate the shadow and light within ourselves. Then we can heal from that place of awareness.”

“I believe that healing is needed at different levels and in different forms, but creating art through painting, music, dance or films, independent of directly addressing the trauma, is a Tells about a definite remedy.”

she says the piece is called juicy In relation to the chemicals produced by the human brain – serotonin, dopamine and so on. “These are our brain juices and, ultimately, it all boils down to our biology. The physical aspect of who we are and how we behave emotionally are intertwined.”

juicy Consists of a series of smaller plots that tie into a larger story. In keeping with Sahiba’s penchant for surrealist backgrounds, juicy An intergalactic juice is set up in the cafe where juices (read brain hormones) are served to patrons in the form of music. The 15-member troupe consists of a bass guitarist, pianist, guitarist, drummer and two vocalists who will cover popular numbers in the music.

Talking about her work, Sahiba says, “My focus is on using art as a tool for systematic and personal transformation. juicy Have an original narrative – I work with an idea and give space to the actors as well as the participants to improvise. We keep working with the initial result to create a more nuanced approach to the topic; It gradually develops into an abstract, partly dramatic illustration of what we are trying to say.”

“I believe that healing occurs as humans are wired to come together and create art. Even the act of participating in or engaging in art brings a movement within, Which starts the process of healing; it is a laxative.”
