Speaking to reporters in Koppal, Yediyurappa said the BJP would return to power in Karnataka with 140 seats under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

The former chief minister said, “The BJP is one and united. Our party will come to power. That’s why we need people’s blessings.”

He also ruled out the possibility of becoming the chief minister again.

Yediyurappa said, “I do not have any ambition for power. I have only one desire to bring the BJP back to power, for which we are all working together.”

On the electoral debut of his son BY Vijayendra in the next assembly elections, Yediyurappa said, “I have asked Vijayendra to contest from Shikaripura. He will contest from the seat decided by the party. BJP’s decision will be final.” Bommai denied any differences between him and Yediyurappa.

“It is all a lie. He (Yeddyurappa) is our supreme leader. We are doing all our activities keeping him at the forefront. We have his blessings,” the chief minister said.

Bommai said there could be no difference of opinion between him and Yediyurappa, adding that those talking such things would be disappointed.

“I have a son and father relationship (with Yediyurappa). So, this (difference) will never happen on any occasion for any reason. Those who are expecting it will be disappointed,” he said.
